The Job

Our ideal candidate will have 3 5+ years of experience serving as a Web Developer and experience working with system users to identify user requirements. The qualified individual will serve in a multi-faceted role as a web developer / system administrator / project coordinator for two existing emergency management software systems within this environment, and will provide software configuration, web development, and training for Government operations center personnel and support staff.

Duties include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Perform software modifications, validation, updates and enhancements, to include developing customized boards (WebEOC) based on current information sharing practices
  • Create scripts or code using web development languages and computer programming best practices; and be able to create custom code in HTML, CSS, Javascript, jQuery, Python and SQL
  • Meet with users to discuss requirements and customer needs
  • Provide metrics and analysis of COTS systems
  • Provide helpdesk functions to assist users with technical and administrative issues
  • Administer and maintain current instances of Commercial-Off-the-Shelf (COTS) incident management and emergency notification software systems (WebEOC and Everbridge) in their current operational states, applying software updates and configuration changes
  • Occasionally, provide trainings and run tabletop exercises for personnel
  • Develop/maintain electronic user guides, standard operating procedures, training materials and other documentation

What You Will Need

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent training/experience in operations center environments
  • Development experience in HTML, CSS, Javascript, jQuery, Python and SQL
  • Excellent analytical skills and exceptional written and verbal communications skills
  • Experience in developing and managing projects to include working with clients and customers to assess their needs, provide information or assistance, resolve their problems, or satisfy their expectations
  • Experience with Emergency Management (a plus but not required)
  • Experience with WebEOC and Everbridge (a plus but not required)
  • Experience with configuration management practices and processes, change management processes and configuration auditing
  • Experience with writing and developing technical documentation, developing process models, and documenting processes and procedures
